3. Know your "Why"

  • Have that strong emotional attachment to your goal.
  • Whenever you feel like stopping, ask yourself why you started in the first place.
  • I am earning 1000 dollars a month so i can buy my own house. So i can afford my dream vacation i've always wanted.
  • I am working out 4 times a week because i want to buy that cute dress i saw, fit in it, look good in it, and take a picture in it.
  • Make the emotions so strong to the point that if you don't achieve your goal, it would feel like you lost. No one likes losing
  • On the other hand, imagine the feeling of winning when you actually achieve it.

Paul Graham

"One thing I've learned as an adult that I didn't realize as a kid is how precisely you have to aim at a goal to hit it. If you choose to optimize something even slightly off to the side, you'll sometimes achieve almost nothing toward your intended goal."
