The pink tax, unlike its name suggests, is not an actual tax, but a cleverly put-together idiom that explains how many products directed towards women generally have a higher retail price than their male counterparts.
In simpler words, “It's gender-based pricing, which means that there's an incline on products that are intended for women but which are the same as products traditionally intended for men.” as Judit Arenas would say it.

Observing the results, we can see an average 13% price difference in daily care products, with men’s products being on the cheaper end of the spectrum. Perhaps there would be different requirements for men and women, as there are bodily differences, hence the composition of the products would have to be different for men and women, however, a slight difference in the composition would not be a plausible reason for such a hike in prices for women’s products.
